He was popularly known as "Allamah Al Shinqitee" or "Author of Adwaa' Al Bayan."
In the middle the African continent, and he grew up in a village named 'Shinqeet', and he became known after coming to Makkah and Madinah, and his he studied until he became more than what his contemporaries were, he wished to travel to Makkah for Hajj and to visit, but Allah wished for wished for him to become a teacher and a Mufassir there, if he would share tafseer his eminence was like that of At Tabari's, and when he would share poems he was like Al Mutanabbi', and when he would share Hadith and it's scinces he would be seen as Ibn Hajr Al 'Asqalani, a Mufassir, a Muhadith, A poet, A Grammarian, the author of Adawaa' Al Bayan, the scholar, the Wali, the Zahid, Al Wara', the Allamah Ash Shinqitee. So who actually was this man? Where did he grow up? And where did he seek knowledge? And how were his manners? And what is this Adwaa' Al Bayan he is known for?

His Name
He was the great scholar, the Shaykh, Muhammad Al-Ameen Ibn Muhammad Al-Mukhtaar Ibn 'Abdil-Qaadir Al-Jaknee Ash-Shanqeetee. His compound name was Muhammad Al-Ameen, just like the name of his father (i.e. Muhammad Al-Mukhtaar), which was the common naming practice in their lands.
His Birth and Lineage
He was born in H in the region known as Shanqeet, which is the eastern part of the state of Mauritania, which lies on the (eastern) coast of the Atlantic Ocean, south of Morocco and Algeria and north of Senegal.
His lineage traces back to Ya'qoob Ibn Jaakin, the forefather of the large tribe, known as the Jaknees. The lineage of this tribe traces back to Himayr.
His Educational Upbringing
He was born in a household of knowledge consisting of men and women that were learned. His mother was the daughter of his father's paternal uncle (i.e. his father's female cousin). So he studied under his maternal uncles, his maternal cousins and their women, the basic aspects of knowledge and the sciences of the Qur'aan.
He completed his studies in various subjects of the Religion under the senior scholars of his land, such as the subjects of Tafseer, Hadeeth, Fiqh, Usool,

Muhammad Al-Ameen Bin Muhammad Al-Mukhtaar Bin 'Abdil-Qādir Al-Jaknee Ash-Shanqītī was a scholar from the country of Mauritania. He was born in the year (or ) in a region called “Shanqeet” also known as the Chinguetti Department which is the eastern part of the state of Mauritania, which lies on the (eastern) coast of the Atlantic Ocean, south of Morocco and Algeria and north of Senegal.; hence, his title “Shanqeeti”.

He gained most of his knowledge from his family since he was born into a very educated household. His lineage traces back to Ya'qūb Bin Jākin, the forefather of the large tribe, known as the Jaknees. At the tender age of ten, he memorized the Qur`ān with his uncle, Abdullah Bin Muhammad al-Mukhtār Bin Ibrahīm Bin Ahmad Nooh al-Jaknee. He mastered tajweed and the art of writing the Uthmāni Mushaf with his cousin, Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin Muhammad al-Mukhtaar. He studied the basics of Arabic grammar, the Prophet Sallallahu `Alayhi Wasallam’s life history and the history of Arabian decent with his aunt.
