Life in the Kingdom of Football Royalty
Sometimes, my grandfather also had a bodyguard named Levi, another retired police officer. Together, John and Levi were a duo reminiscent of Abbott and Costello—always watching out for me and for anything that could happen. Whether they picked me up from school or took me on what they called “boring” errands, they'd always greet me with the same phrase:
“Hello, little Princess! Do you know you’re Football Royalty?”
Football Royalty? Not Quite What I Thought
Football Royalty? What did that even mean? I’d been called that for as long as I could remember, but as a kid, I didn’t understand it. Being called a princess didn’t feel like a compliment; it felt like an implication that I was entitled—something I was taught not to be. So, I would smile, laugh politely, and hop into the passenger seat of my grandfather’s custom Rolls Royce limo, sitting next to John or Levi, who were probably carrying more than just words of wisdom.
Sitting in the front seat made me feel like maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t the princess they thought I was.
A Kingdom of Privileges But Not Everything

My roots are in football. My grandfather Leonard Tose was the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and a founder of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. My mom Susan Tose Spencer was the first female GM of an NFL team.

Marnie Schneider is a CEO, inspirational speaker, author, philanthropist, and best of all daughter and mom. A Philadelphia native now living in the Carolinas, she consistently devotes her time and resources to helping others achieve their own victory. Marnie thinks of this as “showing up” on life’s playing field, with positivity and energy, day in and day out.
Marnie’s passion for sports shines through in her book series, Gameday in the USA (Gameday). The series is in the Top Kids Sports Travel books by Amazon. Writing the stories has been her way of giving back to the many great football communities across the nation. The series includes 8 books that focus on a city and its professional football team. It follows a young girl, Fredericka (“Freddie” for short) and her dog Fumble, as they travel and experience the rich history, culture and food of each city they visit. And ,they end their day at a professional football game and see all that it takes to make gameday happen!

Del Smith, who boasts over 14 years of coaching experience, including three seasons at Wagner and, most recently, the last three seasons as the head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College (NCAA DII), was named Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator at Wagner in February,
Over his three seasons at West Virginia Wesleyan, Smith guided a program turnaround which was impressive on multiple fronts. In , Smith inherited a football team with an average margin of defeat of 32 points per game. In his second year at the helm, Smith led the Bobcats to their highest Mountain East Conference (MEC) finish since the inception of the league, a fourth-place showing (out of 11 teams). Most notable, was Wesleyans win over of Notre Dame (OH), the eight-ranked team in Super Region 1. In addition, during Smiths three-year tenure, a host of Bobcats received conference and national recognition. In total, 16 West Virginia Wesleyan players received All-Conference recognition in the Mountain East. Smith mentored the conference leader in sacks, interceptions, all-purpose yardage, rushing yards, and fumble recoveries.
