I finally finished all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls last night. The ending was not exactly an ending; I guess it really wasn&#;t designed to end. Indeed, who wanted Gilmore Girls to end? I would have wanted to see Rory through her journalistic endeavors and perhaps Lorelai&#;s marriage to Luke (if no new offspring shows up). It definitely was a journey. I loved living there. It was ideal and romantic and everything that&#;s quaint and lovely.
I have mentioned in my previous Rory Gilmore post the added charm of the show for me. Rory is as bookish as any bookish can be. It is nice to see a beautiful, confident, sensitive, independent and smart young woman for a character. And her mother, Lorelai Gilmore, is quite extraordinary too. I really love all of the characters there, particularly Gypsy and Kirk.
To commemorate my finishing Gilmore Girls, I wanted to post her high school graduation speech which was delivered on the last episode of the third season. I think it is the best high school speech there is, and is a true testament to how books influenced her life together with how she was raised.

Before the WB drama Gilmore Girlscame along, most TV shows didn't appeal to both mothers and daughters. Here was a comforting and sweet show that families could watch together, and Alexis Bledel's character Rory Gilmore was always easy to relate to. Rory could care less about being cool and reads several books at once and drinks as much coffee as her quirky mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham). The two attended Stars Hollow High together, and while Rory excelled academically, she was bored out of her mind.
