Washington, D.C. - The Armenian National Institute (ANI) announced the election of new members to its Board of Governors. Chairman of the ANI Board, Van Z. Krikorian, welcomed Dr. Armen Baibourtian, Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, and Mr. Mark Malkasian, who are joining the current serving members including Carolyn Mugar, Annie Totah, Bianka Kadian Dodov, and chairman emeritus Aram Kaloosdian.“ANI is fortunate to add such distinguished individuals to its Board,” stated Krikorian. “From the start, our Institute understood that the worst chapters of Armenian history could repeat themselves. Abp. Vicken Aykazian Honored for Half a Century of Service

The 50th ordination anniversary of a distinguished clergyman and longtime leader of the Armenian Church was marked with a special tribute in October.

Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, the Diocesan Legate and Ecumenical Director of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, was honored on the “golden anniversary” of his ordination, in a heartfelt ceremony and banquet organized by Holy Trinity Church of Cheltenham, PA.

More than people arrived at the church hall for the event on Sunday, October 17, , which went forward in compliance with local pandemic regulations.

The day began in the church sanctuary with the Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Archbishop Aykazian himself, with parish pastor Fr. Hakob Gevorgyan assisting, along with deacons, altar servers, and choir members of the parish.

A banquet followed, with the luncheon graciously hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Garo Garibian. Washington, D.C. - On Sunday, December 12, Armenian Assembly of America representatives attended St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church's 89th Anniversary, where the 50th year of the priestly ordination of His Eminence Archbishop Vicken Aykazian was also celebrated, reported the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly).

"The Assembly is honored to celebrate the 89th year of St. Mary church in Washington, D.C., and to recognize Archbishop Aykazian's decades-long dedication to the Armenian people and work with the world's major interfaith and Christian ecumenical groups," said Assembly Executive Director Bryan Ardouny. "We greatly value our collaboration and look forward to continuing our work together."
