Nicole Di Donato is a reporter and the anchor of Global News at 11 in Edmonton.
Growing up, Nicole never shied away from the camera or from an opportunity to ask questions. It&#;s that curiosity that led her to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. Nicole&#;s favourite part of the job is connecting with people in the community, telling their stories and learning new things. She also has a passion for breaking news.
Nicole played a crucial role in Global Edmonton’s coverage of the Jasper wildfires. She delivered major developments live from the anchor desk — starting with the initial evacuation order to confirming which properties were destroyed on the evening the flames reached the town.
Nicole also covered the Edmonton Oilers’ playoff run that saw the team go to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. She anchored and reported live from Oilers watch parties, providing real-time fan reaction for Global Edmonton, Global National and affiliate stations across the country.

Born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in Ciara was accepted into the British Columbia Institute of Technology to study broadcast journalism, chasing her dream of becoming a journalist.
Ciara enjoys learning about weather systems and patterns in the prairies.
In her free time, she volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House, teaches spin, occasionally fills in as in-game host for The Edmonton Oilers, and spending quality time with friends and family.
